The Mayor Daley-controlled Chicago Plan Commission approved the mayor's controversial plan Thursday to build a new $100 million Children's Museum in Grant Park, setting the stage for a City Council showdown.
The 13-to-2 vote followed a marathon, standing room-only meeting in the City Council chambers that dragged on with no fewer than 177 people signed up to testify.
