Uptown, Chicago, Ill. —
A Truman College student was killed Wednesday night in a shooting near the school that also left another person critically wounded, officials said.
The shooting occurred about 9:15 p.m. at Wilson Avenue and Broadway in the Uptown neighborhood. The school, one of the City Colleges of Chicago and located at 1145 W. Wilson Ave., has been on summer break since May 10 and no classes were in session Wednesday night, said spokesman Clifton Daniel.
