I submit this additional evidence for your consideration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqdCkdx0dQ8&feature=channel_page
Hey, Rockit's not a bad place at all. Let's not fault him because he's brash and obnoxious. That's the persona he's used to get ahead of the rest of us schlubs.
Being successful should not have to directly lead to slavish worship of the mayor or opening one's big trap about any kind of civic affairs. I'm all for businessmen making money. Just the shut the hell up and do it quietly. You want to be a loud-mouthed, pompous, name-dropping, walking cliche windbag? Run for political office. Although even many politicians do their jobs with more grace and aplomb than this clown.
So Billy is worse than the namesake of your blog on WC?
Ha, good question. Of course not, especially when you consider who has more power and influence. Compared to the big guy, Billy is but a tiny speck of insignificance.
Well, the guy's blog makes him sound like a pandering asshat. That said, there are probably worse people out there in the city. Clearly this guy's doing something right as he has an audience and a few successful businesses, but yes, his unthinking support for all things Olympic fails muster.
Conclusory, Ms. Tarkov.
May I ask the following:
1) How did you determine that Mr. Billy Dec is the "worst person in Chicago?"
2) Have you compared Mr. Dec to others who might qualify for this distinction?
3) Have you identified an independent authority who has established standards for becoming "the worst person in Chicago?"
4) If so, what are those standards which you apply?
5) What affirmative defense might Mr. Billy Dec offer to disprove your allegation?
6) Do you consider Mr. Billy Dec to be a public figure?
7) If so, might you defend your allegation as being "absent of malice?"
One may oppose another's point-of-view without defaming another individual. I trust that you intended the former not the latter.
I didn't determine anything. The Beachwood Reporter from time to time puts up a local personage for that dubious honor. Take it up with them. I simply posted it here to see what the Windy Citizen community thought.
I see "Billy" on Hubbard St. all the time. What a complete TOOL. Spoiled rich-kid gets to go to law school then decides he'd rather contribute to society by pouring cocktails down people's throats for $19 a pop.
Supreme douche attitude too, he should move to Vegas where he belongs.
Can you back up those assertions? How do you know he's a "spoiled rich kid"?
May I recommend that nothing further be said on this story until Brad takes a look at this Windy Citizen contribution?
I'll make my own private recommendation.
No gatekeepers here. That's the whole idea....if something's really bad, it'll get downvoted into oblivion and the moderators will be notified.
What affirmative defense is offered?
That you are also a tool.
I think the link to the Beachwood Reporter piece is missing . . . either that or I'm a little lost. It's been known to happen.
No worries. You just need to click on the word "today" in the blurb describing the link. But here you go: http://www.beachwoodreporter.com/column/the_wednesday_papers_176.php Steve (Beachwood Reporter publisher) doesn't say much about it though, just links to the Chicago Now thing. That's not to say you shouldn't be reading Beachwood Reporter of course. You should be reading it daily.
