Last Albany Park Post for 2009

  • New banners on the light poles went up a couple of weeks ago. I stopped by the North River Commission and Rebecca Rico gave me the scoop: the colorful banners were designed by a Northestern Illinois Universtiy Art student from Poland named Lukacz Warda. (Warda won the NRC Art's Committee's Awards competition) The banners are "part of NRC's streetscape beautification program". Rico was also receptive to showing artwork in empty storefronts, but needs volunteers. Looks like a job for Fruzsi?
