Good morning, everyone, it's 8:42am. I've been listening since 6 this morning, but it's been quite. Anyway, today will be my last day of blogging until Tuesday. I need a break before school starts. Also, I'm heading out for a couple of hours later this morning to get my haircut and to travel by myself for a little while. So, here's crime for today.
9:02AM - Assault. 3986 W Barry. At the ASPIRA school. Someone wrote a letter of violence to the school. It can't be read out over the radio, but dispatch has a whole narrative. Note: This sounds serious. And this has been the THIRD day in a row for violence at ASPIRA ... unbelievable. Time to close down that school.
9:19AM - Burglar report. 2650 N Kildare.
9:29AM - Beat 2510 needs K-9 to search the school. Uh oh. Something was found.
9:30AM - Beat 2510 needs another car at ASPIRA to help get everyone out of the building.
9:31AM - Beat car 2523 needs to make sure that the Barry side of the school is guarded.
9:32AM - Police/dispatch chatter about ASPIRA.
9:33AM - Beat 2574 is calling dispatch at the 911 center regarding the ASPIRA incident.
9:38AM - Beat 2543 is doing traffic control at an accident at Pulaski and Altgeld with injures. Another car is needed to block off traffic at Wrightwood.
9:39AM - Beat car 2522 is also at ASPIRA. So far, we've got Beats 2510, 2522, 2523, 2574 and 2593Tom over there.
9:43AM - Dispatch is mobling with 2510 about some basic information regarding ASPIRA. I know exactly what was said, but out of respect for the police, I will not publish it.
9:45AM - Burglar alarm. 3912 W McLean.
9:54AM - An RD number has been pulled from the Altgeld accident. It's HR519184 with the event number of 05491. Also, 2543 on viewed this accident.

10:07AM - Beat car 2524 has a bona fide Burglary at the 9:19am job.
10:12AM - This ASPIRA job is more serious than I thought. The First Deputy Sheriff is being asked to go over there.
10:59AM - Gang disturbance. Wrightwood and Springfield.
11:10AM - Disturbance. 2134 N Springfield. Argument at the store (that's what the ticket states, but I'm looking at Goggle maps right now and there's no store there)?
11:20AM - Things are starting to wrap up at ASPIRA. The plan's being taken out. But, 2522 and 2523 will need reliefs. Beats 2542 and 2547 will be doing that relief. They're going to have to stay until 3:30pm, the end of their shift. Lunch is being advised for the relieving units, though.
11:21AM - Beat 2599 wants to know if this was classifed as a FBI [something] tip. It wasn't. Probably why it isn't in the news.
11:25AM - I'm heading out for a couple hours. Enjoy the day, everyone :). Oh, and anybody happens to know anything about the ASPIRA incident, let me know.
3:20PM - I'm back and Beat 2544 has a traffic stop at 2244 N Avers.
3:55PM - Gang disturbance. Lawndale and Belmont. Two alleged gang kids, one in an orange shirt, are chasing another kid. Westbound on Belmont from Monticello.
4:31PM - Domestic disturbance. 3706 W Lyndale. Something about the brother being on drugs.
4:50PM - I have a report of a fire that occurred in the 2100 block of N Kedzie last night. A nice car was burned up. It's suspected to be Arson. Also, I got an email from a friend regarding an auto accident at Fullerton and Central Park that happened at 3am Wednesday morning. From what I saw in the Chicago Breaking News article, 2 men were killed and one was seriously hurt. Wow. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved. Also, an RD number was pulled from the ASPIRA incident earlier. It's HR51968. UCR code 0556 (which means Aggravated Assault w/ other firearm) was used in the RD.
4:53PM - Robbery. Pulaski and Oakdale. Two males, one in a red shirt and one in a blue shirt, pushed a female down and took her purse. She had a toddler with her. Offenders fled east on George.

4:59PM - A slow down is given on the 4:53pm job.
5:10PM - Beat car 2523 is on a street stop at 3914 W Diversey. Dispatch just recieved a call of a street fight there with the group moving east.
5:30PM - Someone's got a traffic stop at George and Avers.
5:38PM - Battery in progress. Milwaukee and Ridgeway. Four drunks going at it. Note: I saw a similar thing take place at Milwaukee and School today. There was only two of them, but it was crazy.
5:47PM - Boy, the gang members are really disturbing Belmont this afternoon, aren't they? Here's what I have. They're causing a ruckus at Central Park and at 3713 West Belmont.

Missed out on a crazy car fire on the 2100 block of Kedzie Avenue at 12:45 AM. Brand new Camaro with rims on it. Very sad to see a nice automobile go up in flames like that. Consensous on the street it probably was aerson. Unfortunatley my car was parked infront of it, luckily no damage to my car. Just some fire extinguisher juice and smokey dust. Can't say the same for the Camaro! It was totaled and burnt to a crisp!Watching the fire men trying to pry the trunk and hood open with axes was also sad.
I sure did miss out on the fire. Sorry :). Anyway, this does sound sad. I really hope this isn't an Arson. We've got enough crime around here as it is.
