Hello! I’m a Chicago-based, freelance financial/business journalist who’s worked as a reporter and editor at Bloomberg News, Crain’s Chicago Business, Reuters, Dow Jones Newswires and a few other stops the past 19 years or so.
I’ve spent a lot of time on Chicago’s trading floors documenting commodity markets and high finance, covered subjects ranging from the World Series, the Federal Reserve and the biggest oil boom in history, and have also freelanced for the Chicago Cubs and Major League Baseball. Unfortunately, I've been out of full-time work since March after another round of editorial bloodletting at Crain's.
But that's not all bad, because it's allowed me plenty of time to put my Cubs season tickets to good use and tend to my rooftop garden, which includes the usual array of geraniums and tulips, but also genuine Iowa field corn and soybeans.
