That sketch of the city next to the story is amazing.
Love reading about this part of Chicago's history. Makes me want to revisit "Devil in the White City."
I don't recall any characters like Ald. Joe Moore speaking out in the days leading up to the Columbian Exposition.
But then, I'm sure "Big Plans" Burnham makes a pretty good spokesman for what Daley is selling
Wren won the British battle. It's his name which appears on the south side of Chicago Art Institute.
