Imagine the amazing indoor paintball games you could have. And by games, I mean wars.

Y2K replaced the now abandoned Chicago Central Post Office with a high-technolgy mail sorting center just down Canal Street. One of my leading projects was to engineer & manage the installation of the electronic gated security system @ the new Chicago Central Post Office after providing similar services to its predecessor.

I've enjoyed watching the Dark Night Batman Blu-Ray movie & recall walking the expansive floors on construction estimate visits when the USPS was one of my Chicago South Loop clients.

The Gapers Block article provides a link to a fantastic Flickr photo stream for the Central Post Office building.

Remember the bank heist scene in Dark Knight?

How about now?

Windy Citizen photo blogger Justin Goh has a fine selection of Old Post Office building pics posted today, too.
