One of the biggest obstacles facing historic preservationists is asbestos abatement such as that encountered in the conversion of Chicago South Side Taylor Street neighborhood Mother Cabrini Hospital to condominiums back in the early 1990's. More than few of the new residents recall family members being born @ Mother Cabrini Hospital. Such may also be the case if Michael Reese hospital follows a similar conversion path.
