Third share, andrewgill? How might we advance this story further? Perhaps, one of the Harold Washington Library's architect might be invited to weigh in on this criticism?

Are you Windy Citizen quality control? What's your problem?

There's nothing wrong with similar posts. Let the voting decide who goes up top.

May I suggest that voting be based on a discussion thread participant's expertise? This Windy Citizen site invites participants to share "what do you think?."

May I encourage opinion posts to use attribution & offer credible citations so that we may all judge these based on individual merits?

Qstrian, you obviously didn't read the story, since we have Blair Kamin, Lee Bey and others giving us uglier buildings...

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, gentlemen. One of Chicago's great architectural challenges is not just the intrinsic design of a building, but its placement with dissimilar buildings.

For example, one may question placement of the art decco styled NBC Tower in the midst of the Prudential Towers, Aon Building (ne Amoco) & Mies van der Rohe styled Time Building housing the Chicago Park District.

One of my favorite panoramas would be that stretch of South Michigan Avenue visible from the Park Grill where I'm known to dine on balmy summer afternoons.

Yes, gentlemen, architecture was my first love as I trust it is yours. My sister-in-laws work for Helmut Jahn enlighted me to those architectural critics mentioned in your Windy Citizen share.

May I invite fellow Windy Citizens to join me on a Chicago architectural tour next season when we may discuss this further.

Agreement on the MCA. What a waste of space that thing is.

Harold Washington is pretty hideous from the outside, but that atrium at the top is one of the most beautiful interior spaces in the city.

This. The MCA is just hideous from the outside. "Welcome to our big ugly box!"

Gardiner's on a roll! Good pickup, gentlemen.
