An epiphany, aloagirl!
I was most surprised by the empty space behind the Prudential Building and around the Tribune Tower in the old photos. What used to be there?
Probably wasn't empty. Just had much shorter buildings along Michigan Ave. The Prudential Building used to be the city's tallest building from 1955 into the early 60's. These days, the Prudential Building doesn't even register on the skyline.
