Woman, man shot on Northwest Side

feedproxy.google.com - 3 weeks ago - 13 views

A woman in her 20s and an 18-year-old man were shot in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood this evening, police said.

They were shot on the 3600 block of West Belmont Avenue at 6:45 p.m., Chicago Police spokeswoman Sgt. Antoinette Ursitti said.

The woman was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Ursitti said.

A Chicago Fire Department spokesman said the woman was shot in the back and was in serious condition when she was taken to the hospital.

An 18-year-old man was also shot in the incident, Ursitti said.

He took himself to Our Lady of Resurrection Hospital where he was in good condition, Ursitti said.

The shooting is under investigation and it's not clear if the same gunman shot both victims or what the relationship of the victims to each other is, Ursitti said.

No suspects were in custody, Ursitti said.
