Was it something we said?
More and more conventions are ditching Chicago as a destination for their big to dos, the Chicago Tribune reports.
The plastics industry is the latest group to ditch it's triennial McCormick Place digs and head to warmer climes.
But it's not the weather that has the conventioneers fleeing en masse.

Woo hoo!! Way to go to Unions!!
Building a trade show exhibit construction bears a striking resemblance to that of other construction projects with the exception that the climate is controlled. It requires the co-operation of the client, logistics & McCormick Place construction crews.
While a second major trade show has chosen to relocate elsewhere, the urgent need for optimal trade show planning & project management persists.
However tempting to blame trade show loss on union work rules, in fact, a variety of factors may have contributed to increased expenses, including flawed logistics, deficient project management & compressed schedules. As they say, "a job well-planned is half done!"
