Here's Colbert in a Second City skit from 1990 called "The Business Trenches."
Groan. Another fake news guy. Juuuust what we need.
I can't think of an instance that Colbert has said he was a news program in a serious way. I don't think I recall Stewart saying it ever either. In fact I believe they have both defended themselves as comedians first, although I cannot find the quotes at the moment.
The "fake news" label was made up by the audience and the "real news". Personally, I would consider Fox News as humorous as either of them.
You are correct. Neither Colbert or Stewart ever said they are real news. Unfortunately too many fans think they are anyway. But if you want funny try MSNBC. Now THAT is comedy.
$125 seems like a bit much, but that lineup for the alumni review looks pretty incredible.
Agreed. I'm interested in the panels too, and those are only $25.
The Trib's Chris Jones has a more extensive list on who's going to be there.
A "panel" on a fake news show (played for comedy that isn't funny) seems to be the ultimate in absurdity. What of any intelligent discussion could possibly happen at such a "panel"? It's all rather crazy sounding.
