Cops shutting down protests outside the Pittsburgh G:20 conference forced a protester to pose as a trophy for them in several photos....turns out they were Chicago Police officers on loan for the conference. Gross. Just gross.

Conduct of Chicago cops loaned to Pittsburgh probed:

Chicago police are investigating more than a dozen officers accused of forcing a suspect to kneel in front of them for a photograph while they were on loan in Pittsburgh for last month's G-20 economic summit.

The internal investigation was announced after a video surfaced showing the officers, in riot gear, gathering around a handcuffed college student, Kyle Kramer, and making him kneel spread-eagled on the street. An officer in a white shirt then appears to take a picture of the group.

Chicago Police Supt. Jody Weis said the department would investigate the alleged conduct of the officers, who he said used their vacation time for the special detail but whose expenses were paid by the city of Pittsburgh.

Here's what the arrestee had to say:

While calling the incident "kind of degrading," Mr. Kramer, 21, also said he felt uncomfortable about his status as a poster child for police excess, even though he, like so many of those arrested during those two nights of confrontations, believes he was simply at the wrong place at the wrong time.

"I don't want to get used," he said Friday. "I don't want to become a symbol, but I can already feel that happening. A couple of times people have compared it to Abu Ghraib. One guy even argued with me about it. But I wasn't wearing a hood and it wasn't as intense."

Redundant post, chicagobankerman?

How does this differ from Len Kody's share from chicagobreakingnews.com one hour before your www.youtube.com video share?

Might you consider posting such videos as a discussion thread participation in the future.

Thanks.

Agreed! You feel awkward giggling about it, but it's like the whole family's at Disney World or something.

I know. It's like listening to a bad ethnic joke. You know you shouldn't laugh and when you do you get a little embarrassed. And then you still laugh!

The cop in the white shirt waving for them to get in position puts it over the top.

Upon second viewing, I wonder how funny I'd find it if it was a woman handcuffed and arched out in front of them like that.

See... now THAT wouldn't have been funny at all. And I am no politically correct, guy, but it just wouldn't have been funny.

Yeah, people would have been royally ticked about it, like they were with that woman who got her ass kicked by security guards at the House of Blues Hanson show this week.

Guy gets humiliated: Ha ha.

Woman gets humiliated: How dare you!

That's just how the world works...

I guess this is progress...50 years ago it would have been a black man...100 years ago it would have been an Amerindian. Today it's a kid that looks like one of their own sons...sort of.
