Complaints about alleged race discrimination by Original Mothers bar against six black Washington University students have prompted state and federal investigations and a likely lawsuit to be filed by the students.
The investigations, which include an FBI inquiry, are a result of complaints filed by Regis Murayi, one of the students denied entry into the bar on Oct. 17 with the Chicago Commission on Human Rights, the Illinois attorney general’s office and the US Department of Justice.

Presumptous, studlife?
Students may file a lawsuit & join thousands of other lawsuits being filed in the State & Federal Court system.
Whether an FBI agent made an initial telephone call as part of an interview concerning this matter & whether its progressed to a full-fledged "investigation" are two separate things.
What investigators may learn is that, in the guise of fitting in socially 300 miles from their Washington University home campus, a member of the party may have led the door greeter to believe that one of the party professed gang affiliation. Were that the case, behavior not attire would exclude.
What's the problem with mis-directing law enforcement resources in order to right a perceived wrong, a social slight? FBI investigators are distracted from investigating domestic terrorist threats, sub-prime mortgage fraud & suppression of voting rights & civil rights.
May I suggest a quiet conversation to resolve this matter, drinks & dinner on the house?
