Fair question, biverson. Citizens will take up where CPD patrolmen leave off in my Northwest Side Jefferson Park neighborhood. Some of us enjoy the sport.
I was thinking more of police working with neighborhood groups and being deployed by neighborhood. The vigilante approach often ends up featured in the "Darwin Awards" annals.
Some Chicagoans are better trained than other to handle the criminal excesses of life in a big city.
