Getting middle class riders on board CTA mass transit is the key to earning broader political support & better utilizing mass transit resources.
Express routes are generally targeted to more affluent commuters & should have earned a following.

You mean MORE middle class riders. There are plenty of them that already ride the CTA.
I've had friends who moved further up towards Lake View rather than down by LaSalle because they could never catch the bus. The busses would arrive, but they'd be so full that no one could get on.
