I approve. Go for it. Anything to get the CTA money.
I never get tired of seeing Apple advertisements. I'm anxious to see what the premises will look like.
I agree. Apple adverts are unobtrusive and artistically done.
Exactly. I love how innovative their ads can be. The fact that both companies will benefit from this offer is fantastic idea.
Here's a good breakdown of the reasons for needing the revamp to the station: http://www.ifoapplestore.com/db/2009/10/24/apple-will-spend-4-million-to...
Good link, thanks!
If not mistaken, the Apple store will go in where a gas station used to be. I wonder if Apple is trying to do a design pun by having a pizza parlor at the tip of the slice-shaped corner? This location is a great marketing decision for Apple. Is the Border's nearby staying open? The proximity of the Apple store would probably be a boost for it. Kitty-corner northwest of the pizza shop is good retail, Crate & Barrel and Container Store among others.
This is a really great model -- that if the CTA is smart will continue to offer. As we all know the CTA is constantly in money troubles, and upgrading a station costs a ton.
So, why not get businesses around the stop to pay the bill, since they will get a large benefit from it. And to say thanks, offer them advertising there first. That way they can block competitors in the area from advertising at a major transportation hub.
I think it would be fun to refer to stops as their sponsor and not just street names too.
It would be nice if Apple took over the entire CTA. I'll bet they'd get it to work. AN INSANELY GREAT PUBLIC TRANSIT SYSTEM. I'm not even an Apple fanatic. Actually, I'd like to see a marketing war between Apple and Microsoft (hey, let's throw in Google and Sun for good measure) in which they adopt or purchase various distressed concerns and fix them.
Not to change the subject, but I just noticed that you can take the bottom of the comment box where you type in stuff, and drag it to make the box bigger. Cool!
Here is something similar to what you want. This is the iPod packaging if it was done by Microsoft, the music with it is perfect.
I was JUST thinking about this. I was wondering if Microsoft would jump on the bandwagon, seeing as Apple is their main competitor. I wouldn't be surprised if this broke news soon!
Microsoft considers Google their largest competitor right now as far as I know. The bing campaign was testament to that. Also with Google coming out with a new type of operating system and their recent moves to control the Internet, or so it seems, Microsoft has a major threat coming from the idea of cloud computing and Google is far ahead of them on that.
Thanks for clarifying that. I had no idea Google was coming out with an OS.
Yea, here is the wiki for Google Chrome OS.
It is a very lightweight OS (unlike Windows and Mac) and is more like a web browser than a bunch of programs. This means that very little will stay on your computer and will be on servers somewhere else. It is a scary idea for some but I like it.
It will make netbooks far more practical and efficient.
Microsoft is a strange company. They have some great products, but some really frustrating products that unfortunately the public has to interface with. So that's what they think of when they think about Microsoft. Take Windows Vista - PLEASE! But seriously, it's as if they never do focus groups. Or they do focus groups, but really poorly.
At least Windows 7 came out and is a fantastic OS as far as I can tell.
Many customers agree with you, Nelson!
Wait till Best Buy retail stores roll out one of the leading computer manufacturers three new stylish personal computers. This should give fruit fanciers something for which to be envious. (I have to write around client restrictions.) Shall we arrange a Windy Citizen private showing @ the John Hancock Best Buy retail store?
