Single malt bourbon whiskey fan, Ira?
Until last weekend I hadn't conceptualized how small Bourbon County is. That area is seriously a national treasure. Heaven smells like a bourbon warehouse.
"Chicago doesn't have much in the way of nature"? 68,000 acres of Cook County forest preserves, 26 miles of open and free lakefront and 552 parks in the city alone, North Park Village Nature Center, Eden Place Nature Center, nearby places like the Chicago Botanic Gardens, Morton Arboretum and Illinois Beach State Park? Maybe you need to get out more. http://www.chicagowilderness.org/places.php

Check out a few of my posts about cycle touring around Chicago and you'll see I do get out quite a bit.
