This is a shot I took with a Holga underneath the el tracks near Wabash and Washington in Chicago. There are three overlapping exposures on two frames of film.

I love that photo! Say, if I were to look for a Holga, for outside shooting, mid day, is there one that you'd recommend, and do you consider Holga's better than Diana's? I'm considering getting one or the other.
Thanks so much, Tamale Chica! I'm going to buy myself a new Holga but I'm going the get the good old standard Holga. I've never used a Diana but I'd love to. You should also consider getting a Lomo Kompact--love that camera. But I would start with just a regular old Holga.
Billeguerriero, would that be the Holga 120? Last year one of my artsy friends brought her Diana when we went to Pilsen. Shooting with film is definitely a different experience as I could shoot as many as I wanted but my friend had to be more careful since she was limited to what was on the roll she had.
I think this will be my Christmas gift to myself!
Hiya, Chica. Yup, it's the Holga 120--though I just looked at the Holga site and started drooling over some of their other models. But I would start with the 120.
Also, I'd love to see any Holga or Diana photos/results--love the "toy" cameras. Also, you should check out photos taken with the Lomo Kompact--I've taken lots of fun pictures with the Lomo.
I'll have to check out a few when I'm not trying to do 3 things at once. I don't multi-task very well anymore. Have a good Thanksgiving!
Every picture tell a story, billgurriero? What does this vantage point tell us about the photographer?
This photo is incredible. Gosh. Been fun seeing your stuff on here this week!
Thanks so much, TheCitizen!
Tamale Chica, hold the phone, I saw a great Holga starter kit for sale this weekend. It includes a Holga 120 with flash, a roll of medium format film, electrical tape (to tape up your Holga and limit light leaks), and a book of Holga photos. It was selling for around $80 at Dick Blick (kinda steep if you ask me, you might be able to find it cheaper online). I might get one for my Xmas gift to myself.
Billeguerriero, I had already ordered the Holga 120 with film (both color and black and white). I have the camera, the film is otw and getting a bit of time to break away seems otw as well.
Do the light leaks really mess up the photograph, or do they lend visual interest? I guess it depends on how bad the leak is?
The light leaks usually add to the visual interest and overall Holga-ness of the shot but sometimes they can blow out key details. It's usually a good idea to tape up your Holga when you shoot. Have fun!
