The Apple Pie contest sounds terrific:

The annual Bucktown Apple Pie Contest, a fund-raiser for Holstein Park, pits amateur chefs against pastry pros—watch the competition, then taste the entries for a few bucks a slice. There’s also live music by Tangleweed, a silent auction, and a raffle. 2-5 PM, Holstein Park, 2200 N. Oakley, 312-742-7554.
