McDonald's gave away free burgers in September as a way to give people a break from the economy, they also paid for public transportation. The cost of it all though is the damage a single burger can do to the environment.

I disagree that a burger and a beer are unbeatable. I stopped eating burgers in 2004 after getting grossed out by McDonalds and Burger King both.
I never did get that "pounds of carbon emmissions" thing. I'll have to read up on it. From the sound of it, the atmosphere should be heavier than lead by now.
