Great 'effing story.
I'm not a Metra rider, but now I want to catch the next 4:40 and hang out with that salty-sounding bunch of boozers.
It's amazing how people can form communities around the strangest stuff.
Person #1: "We're all heading home on the same train?"
Person #2: "Yeah."
Person #1: "Well then, let's party!"
People are great.
This is awesome and totally reminds me of my Metra days, back when I was commuting to UIC from the burbs. There was a bar car on some trains back then, but even if there wasn't one, peaple kind of created it much as it's described in this story.
There also used to be a rousing game of Texas Hold 'Em. These same four guys really went at it. It was quite an education.
