City looks into rise of suicides by firefighters

The Chicago Fire Department is looking into what they say is an increase in suicides and attempted suicides of firefighters in the last year in hopes of putting together outreach programs to prevent more from happening, officials said today.

What a downer. Are emergency personnel influenced much by the economy? Could that be a factor?
