A local tweeter takes a photo of a big banner advertising Citgo in the Loop with the words "Local. Loyal. Like it should be." The only problem? Citgo is based in Houston, not Chicago.

Ha.
Nope, no offshore drilling going on in Lake Michigan that I'm aware of.
Though there once was quite a few oil refineries along the Sanitary and Ship Canal during Chicago's great industrial past.
Torco Oil, for instance, once had a very visible presence in Chicago. But today the abandoned Torco Oil refinery and plenty of others like it are simply left to rust, or be picked clean by scrappers, with many of the those distinctive cylindrical tanks still holding quite a bit of petroleum and other environmentally hazardous chemicals.
Ok., is there ANYTHING you don't know about Chicago? :-)
I think that is a good question for a new examiner piece, "Is there anything Len doesn't know about Chicago?"
PS- Great find!
Haha! Thanks guys.
But is there anything I don't know about Chicago?... Well, less and less everyday thanks to all of you guys and (shameless plug coming... wait for it...) WindyCitizen.com!
