Experience the music and culture of China when Jigú! Thunder Drums of China performs at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, on the Mainstage of the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd. in Glen Ellyn.
Meaning to “beat or touch the drum,” Jigú! was founded in 1988 and has performed worldwide to critical acclaim. The company of 28 drummers is a four-time recipient of the National Star Awards in China for traditional drumming and percussive performance. With its high energy, Jigú! Is an awe-inspiring spectacle, rooted in folk origins of China and blended with modern musical elements.
