Chicago Opens Up Streets, but New York Does Better

Remember how Sunday Parkways closed down Chicago boulevards last fall and opened them up to cyclists, pedestrians and skaters? It's back. Renamed Open Streets, it will take place on Saturday, August 1, across 7.5 miles of Logan Square, Humboldt Park, East Garfield Park, North Lawndale and Little Village. But that big city in the east, New York? It's shutting down more streets, in more neighborhoods, more often. It's making us look bad.
