Mayor Jane Byrne lived in a Cabrini Green low rise apartment for a few months back in the 1980s. She did so to restore public confidence in the Chicago Housing Authority after a series of gang shootings.
Right, I saw that on Ganglands. She didn't really replicate the experience, though, did she? With the added police protection and the psychology of that "real" home key in her pocket.
