Some former Ickes CHA residents may mourn the loss of their community.
Alternatively, just 40 years ago, this neighborhood hosted the Rolling Stone's visit to Chess Records & throngs of shoppers visiting Michigan Avenue new car dealerships.
But by the mid-1990's, one of my clients re-launched the Montgomery Ward mail-order business just across the street from a methadone treatment clinic & a stone's throw from what was once bootlegger Al Capone's headquaters--The Lexington Hotel.
