Today is the Feast of St. Leo The Great. I was baptized in St. Leo the Great Parish in 1952 by Monsignor Pat Molloy*.
St. Leo the Great Parish at 77th & Emerald was once the largest Catholic Parish in Chicago and eventually was divided into St. Sabina, St. Killian, and Little Flower Parishes. Click my post title for Dr. Eileen McMahon's account of the action. Four Huge Catholic Parishes -That's a lot of Mackeral Snappers!
