Hi, please forgive my ignorance, but what exactly do you mean by retread?
Well certainly a few people have died from it. But really the bra mask is a gas mask so, as I mentioned in the story think about the more practical, if you're in a fire, or the post-9/11 aftermath and everyone needing to take covering and dealing with a breathing problem. Sure the probability is highly unlikely, but that is great thing about scientific research, you never know when you'll need it.
