Isn't this ChicagoNow share as old as the City of Chicago parking lease agreement?
Was a schedule of parking meter rate increases already approved by the Chicago City Council as requested by the lessor?
Yes, you are correct Qstrian.
But considering I still get questions about the most mundane and seemingly obvious details of the lease deal daily, I thought I would remind the vast majority of people who do not pay attention to such things that a rate increase is imminent.
Here's a great example. In June of this year, now that's 6 months into this deal, I got an e-mail from a shocked woman who was upset about the increase in meter rates because she had not heard one word about them.
No, seriously, this was a legit e-mail.
So, for someone like you who is totally on top of the news, this perhaps not news. But for the rest of the world, don't be surprised if some people totally forgot this very important fact.
There really needs to be coin vending machines next to all the boxes.
