27-year-old Nicholas Skala, one of Chicago's (and the nation's) most dedicated activists for universal health care, died suddenly this past weekend.

Gosh, that's awful. 27 is way to young to die.

It may be tasteless, but I have to wonder if he had an ongoing health issue that informed his advocacy for single-payer care.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, Ill In Illinois.

There aren't any details out yet as to what caused Skala's death, but he doesn't seem to havee mentioned a personal problem in his testimony on health care issues, and you'd think he would have had he had any.

It isn't only sick people who believe in health-care reform.
