David Gimelfarb's rented sports utility vehicle was found a week ago by a park ranger in the Parque Nacional Rincon de la Vieja. Gimelfarb, 28 was in Costa Rica to go hiking. The Chicago doctoral student's parents recently left their Highland Park to travel to Costa Rica and search for him.

Buddy system? Was this hiker joined by others or simply flying solo? Costa Rica is home to many Chicagoans, a resort get away for those politically connnected & a former military launching point for miliitary attacks against Nicaragua during the 1980's.
