Daley promises jobs will be created, but who will be "qualified" to get them?
From: http://www.wbbm780.com/Chicago-2016-starts-wooing-regular-folks-on-Olymp...
How can Daley think that Olympics are still that great for us financially? London is bleeding money and had to more than triple their initial budget to accommodate the economy and demand for facilities for the Olympics there in 2012. If we triple our budget to $14 billion or so, how can we expect to recover when we have already lost so many investors that went under due to economic troubles?
We can't even recover $420 million of debt, the state is releasing prisoners to save $125 million and all you hear about are job cuts in the news now. But hey, at least jobs may be coming in the next few years if we do get the Olympics...
I can only cross my fingers that Chicago loses this bid; if not, well ... I doubt I'll stick around to see the results.
