Watch for extensive coverage of the Chris Kelly death. You may find that newspapers & broadcasters assign a variety of reporters to this story. The many aspects of the life & death of Chris Kelly deserve extensive & what may appear to be overlapping coverage.
Kelly's girlfriend has lawyered up, according to the Tribune. And who is her lawyer? Terry Gillespie, Ed Gensen's partner. Was he the mysterious "gray-haired man" at the hospital, asking for the car keys? Why is one of Blago's former lawyers' partners working for Kelly's girlfriend?
Cook County Hospital?
25 miles?
Why wasn't Mr. Kelly transferred to a poison control center closer to his office?
Published reports suggest that the late Mr. Kelly may have reconsidered the alleged act which brought him to Cook County's Oak Forest Hospital for initial treatment.
It could be a combination of incompetance and over-zealous lawyers. People for some reason prefer to think that there are criminal masterminds behind everything. More often the involved parties are all too human.
Chris Kelly's intimate knowledge of O'Hare Airport contracting might have helped federal prosecutors map out associations in a mannter similar to that illustrated in the Denzel Washington movie--American Gangster.
In today's Tribune coverage (http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-chris-kelly-death-14-sep14,...) "Cook County Health and Hospitals System spokesman Lucio Guerrero" refers to "standard procedure" in the transferring of patients. Lucio Guerrero is the former Sun-Times writer who became Blagojevich's PR flack right before the impeachment. Too weird.
