'In a race against Kirk, "David Hoffman takes corruption off the table," Powell said. "Kirk wants to run against corruption. On the issues he can't win."'
That sums it up for me.
No it doesn't! I should point out that we've recently had one eminent Republican senator from Illinois: Peter Fitzgerald. Peter appointed Patrick Fitzgerald (no relation) to U.S. Attorney and the rest is history.
Does it look like Kirk & Alexi will be the two leading political party US Senate candidates, texrun11 & Disaffected?
Good question. I don't have the answer, but Rasmussen does!
I think Alexi and Kirk have the best branding (or is it just exposure?) but Hoffman has the closest thing to matching the integrity of Obama or Fitzgerald. I would think that Hoffman is the Kirk-beater, unless he's really bland and boring. I have yet to see him on television. He needs to project himself to the public IMO.
Let's see how Mr. Hoffman learns to mix with large crowds on the campaign trail. One of his supporters needs to play the role of my late friend Jim Skillbeck who walked ahead of Governor James Thompson, introducing "Big Jim!"
"Hoffman has the closest thing to matching the integrity of Obama"... Yikes. I thought you LIKED the guy. That isn't a very nice way to characterize him if you do!
Let me guess...you must be a Republican.
So stipulated?
Check his profile...so stipulated.
I made a non-partisan remark about Peter Fitzgerald. Now I'll make another non-partisan remark: PARTISAN POLITICS, ESPECIALLY AS PRACTICED BY "ACTIVIST" REPUBLICANS, SUCK!
That is a great comment. It is so partisan. After all, if you hated partisan politics -- as you claim you do -- why would you single out Republicans? Wouldn't they all be the same to you, a hater of partisan politics? Obviously you DON'T hate partisan politics. You just hate Republicans.Sooooo typical. LOL
And you would be wrong. I am a conservative. Sometimes that makes me vote Republican. But I am a conservative above being a Republican. I have voted for Democrats and if a good one comes along in the future, will do so again.
I could give a longer reply, but that's what you would like. That would take this share off-topic, which would be an insult to the person that shared the above story. If you want to impugn our president, who is a Chicagoan after all, why don't you start your own share? I may even stop by and comment if you do! If you want to continue to make snarky comments, I'll consider you a troll.
What you "consider" doesn't interest me. I see no reason to start thread just to "impugn your president," however. There would need to be a subject upon which to comment.
But, on THIS topic, I can easily point out the hypocrisy of the extreme left. Hoffman meeting with Axelrod? Why would you guys be so happy with this? After all, you attacked Karl Rove for HIS meetings in the same vein. Yet, now it's all warm and fuzzy if Axelrod pulls a Karl Rove?
Like I said, you aren't interested in non-partisanship. You are only interested in hate for Republicans. At least be honest with yourself.
