Great share, windycitynews!

Now, let's get the Illinois General Assembly to make it easier for Chicagoans to qualify for extended benefits by dropping the requirement that jobless must earn 1.5 times their last three months of income during the preceding nine months of employment of their benefit year.

Hmm...wouldn't that more accurately be

"President Obama Signs Bill that Assists 40,000 Out of Worker Illinois Residents"

If we/they were working (and why not?) they/we would not need this benefit/penalty.

What business/org was the client that commissioned this release? It carries no byline or attribution.

Are you asking if it's true, Brad Flora?

Not at all, I'm just asking who paid them to write this.

This is a "release," i.e. someone hired them to write this story and push it to sites like ours, on Twitter, etc. That's fine, but they should disclose the sponsor.

20 years ago, you might buy advertising to get your message out. Now you hire a bunch of social media people who work to plant your message in publications for free.

As I've said before, they're welcome to post their stuff here, but it'll be scrutinized just like anything else that shows up on the WC.

In this case, I'm asking who sponsored this story so I can better understand how to interpret it.

I'm curious why this got upvotes. I don't see anything that would help me get ahead here in Chicago.

Upvoters, what's the skinny?
