From the excitement of a manned lunar landing to to sadness of a martyred US President Kennedy, the last CBS anchor found the words to express our joy & sorrows like none other in an era before iPods, PCs & the texting.
Cronkite was the archetype for "anchorman."
He's the unofficial narrator of my Chicago:1968 comic because he had this kind of 3rd person omniscient perspective on the entire decade.
