The Chicago Tribune is a terrible newspaper that was driven into bankruptcy by timid bureaucrats posing as editors. So who is the New York Times hiring to launch its new Chicago edition? The same people that ruined the Trib.

So do you agree with this take?
It's true that many of the people the Times is relying on are old Tribune folks. I don't know any of them and don't have an opinion on their abilities. I tend to like what Jim Warren writes, though. As for the Trib, I do think it's a good paper but not as nimble as the Sun-Times nor nearly as comprehensive as the NYT. The Trib does seem to have a fire under its ass to get better. Mostly I posted the link because I thought it would generate discussion. I don't necessarily agree with all John Cook said.
In that case, join up over here: http://www.windycitizen.com/chicago/media/2009/10/22/new-non-profit-news...
What a shock! It's a gang of white men plus Anne Marie.
It will be interesting to see what they decide to cover for the NYTimes. Is the New York Times itself known for its diversity?
Quentin Tarantino movie script, texrun11?
While the redundant use of the word "kill" might satiate one's blood lust days before Halloween, another explanation for those chosen to become New York Times correspondants is that have learned the importance of running a financially successful enterprise. Some of the best business success has risen, like the mythic phoenix, from the ashes of financial failure.
