Never forget!
Vantage or historical significance?
Also, because I know Anna Tarkov will enjoy this, here's Billy Dec's reaction to Chicago losing the bid:
Ha, thanks Kiyoshi :-) I guess my distaste for Billy is becoming all too well known. Not that I mind. I actually DID think of Billy when Chicago was knocked out in the first round of voting: http://twitter.com/AnnaTarkov/status/4555489492
Ugh, what a douche! "I'm twittering as we speak about it," and "The people in this room have a lot riding on this." What, do they have pending real estate deals?
Ah, c'mon. He was right. The people in that room DID have a lot riding on it. For many, it was money, for others it was time invested, or pride, or hopes, or whatever. It was a big deal to the people who worked on the bid. We can both be glad Chicago didn't get it while acknowledging that some folks had a really, really, bad day on Friday.
What an amazing display. Isn't like someone turned off the lights.
