Spotted on the Near North Side is the most confusing, eye-catching storefront featuring nude mannequins. Any thoughts?

Business must be slow there, makingchicagohome.
That's what I thought. But is this okay marketing or is this just chavvy? Some people I have spoken to think it is in poor taste, but how offensive is a naked mannequin's body?
Any thoughts, qstrian?
Bet you five bucks it's gone by week's end, makingchicagohome.
Well it's definitely not sexy in any way. But I guess it catches the eye?
What store was this? Where was it?
Yes....where is it...inquiring minds want to know...
Everybody's seen naked mannequins. No big deal.
But when you put a hat on them, pose them like porn stars and cover up the spot where their lady bits would be with construction gloves, that's just creepy.
I saw this store off of Oak St, near Esquire theatre on the Near North Side. As far as I could tell, the store was selling mattresses, lamps and other home goods. The construction-worker-mannequin-porn stars had absolutely nothing to do with what was being sold!
I have not noticed any other Chicago stores, um, exploiting naked female mannequins before, which is why I found it so interesting.
Marketing or failed artist's attempt to shock the bourgeoisie living on the Near North Side?
You should pop in and ask the store manager. I'm sure they'd be happy to talk.
good idea. my roots are in journalism (i.e. being nosy!).
