This is a strange situation we have now. I'm wondering how much of a threat this is to survival of these industries, meaning yes they are taking a hit and it's not really cool, but can they still hang in there? And who are these users of pirated product? What if they are the ones most responsible for buzz? How many people out there have become fans of musicians they never would have heard unless they could download it for free from Napster or usenet?

There are treatments that are based on sound scientific research; they are not a panacea but they offer actual improvement without the risk and expense of the kinds of treatments described in the story. Vulnerable parents plus mercenary pseudo-experts are a terrible combination.
