As with its procreation pairing, earning organized labor's political support involves a single exhuberant act followed by months building rank-and-file support preceding February's Democratic Primary Election.

Last Spring's Fifth Congressional District Special Primary Election reminded us that organized labor endorsements & generous contributions may not be enough to ensure victory.

Hynes must concede that Regular Democratic Organization support in the 2004 US Senatorial Democratic Primary fell short of ensuring his nomination.

Do organized labor endorsements pack the punch?
