I enjoy anything Ebert writes. He's a national treasure, much less a Chicago treasure.

That said, is he really the best candidate to be breaking down the health care debate?

Well, if I had to choose between Roger Ebert and Rush Limbaugh, I would give Roger two thumbs up!

Wow, that's great. Over 900 comments! Ebert is amazing. I've always marveled at his calm, reasonable approach to movies and life. I'm glad he has survived for so long after his diagnosis; I hope he's around for a long time.

I think not running away from the scary word of "socialism" is important. The point that it is not feared in most places around the world is also key.

I don't know if he should be taken as a serious voice on healthcare reform, but he is a sharp guy, knows a lot about the world and is generally very reasonable. So personally, I think considering what he has to say is a good thing.

I think you are so right!

Hey, here's a news flash: the far right wants us to think they know all the answers, and socialism is not one of them. And when they don't like something, they don't like something very much.
