In a city where the red line changes colors neighborhood to neighborhood, Ahlam Said, a 23-year-old DePaul grad, says her faith inspires her work for social justice and community-building for IMAN, the Inner-City Muslim Activist Network, headquartered in Chicago Lawn, on the Southwest Side.

Mainstream Americans become acquainted with the five pillars of the Islamic Faith evidenced by Alham Said's community pro bono work. As the brother of one of the CTA Red Line motorman, I am well aware of the ethnic, linguistic & religious diversity experienced by those who cover these 33 stops from Howard to 95th Street.
