Allison Payne, on leave from WGN-Ch. 9 since November, is set to return Monday as co-anchor of the station's 5:30 p.m. weekday newscast. Payne took extensive time off throughout 2008 after a series of mini-strokes slurred her speech. She says WGN's letting her ease back into her duties.

Allison, my prayers are with you. I discovered WGN-News after
I had back surgery in March of 1993 and have watched it ever
since. My husband and I never watched television in the bed-room until then. He brought it in the room so I would not
have to walk so much while I recuperate. Please hurry come
back. Much love to you and the rest of the staff. Much Love
from beautiful Mt. pleasant, South Carolina. Come visit
Charleston.
