I hope the theater re-opens and provides affordable movie going experiences for Rogers Park. Who minded the sticky floor when it was five dollars to see a first run show??? Free popcorn wednesday was brilliant and I hope they reinstate that bit of genius when they re-open. I would also like to add that the sign "closed for good" is not the friendliest. They could have said, "Closed for improvements" or "Closed until our owner is off of eviction status" or "Closed- Too busy eating popcorn to run theater". "Closed for good" far too final for my taste.
Resurrect Village North!!!
From your description, the place doesn't sound like much of a prize, but I can understand the value of having an affordable theater nearby, even if it's a bit on the rundown side of things. We'll see what happens to the space.
And were they really first-run movies there?
