"Events like this should definitely have a place on here"

I agree 100% with that. And that is what got me a little agro... to suggest that an event such as the 912 march is somehow not worth posting on this site, as the first man implied, is typical of left leaning social sites such as this one. I've been blogging since 2005 and it's the same old line all the time. Digg, Reddit on and on. Liberal censorship all day long.

Out of respect for you I will refrain from using bad words...

Has nothing to do with the constitution. This is a still-growing service where we're all figuring out a new way to find local news and talk about what's happening in our city. Events like this should definitely have a place on here. Discussions about liberals vs. conservatives probably don't, since they don't really help us understand or enjoy Chicago life all that much and they can happen on just about any site out there.

It's an interesting issue for me because you can either address it through moderation, which is kind of what my comments here are, I acknowledge, or you can build the service in such a way that folks who want to engage in this stuff can do so freely while those who don't are able to skip around them. For better or worse, our tech's not yet at that stage, so I ask people to keep it civil while going after eachother on these, important, matters while we all figure out how best to do so. Thanks.

Yes, play nice people. Wouldn't want to hurt my feelings, I'm very sensitive... I have a constitutional right not to be offended. Lol

Your misdirection and "whee" are a cover-
you cannot explain why you weren't protesting taxes during the Bush administration.

If I'm in an intellectual drift, please teach me why you have a beef now as opposed to before....

"you cannot explain"
I can explain many things but I choose not to engage with you. I have six blogs and much work to do. If you want to debate me than you will have to come to streetwise because I have about 12 threads going on different sites. Too much to keep up with.

Yep. Lol.. Come on over I'll gladly kick your ass in the arena of ideas. If you have time to count words, surly you have time to come to my house...Lol
This post has many words that you can count. Read the article and write a response.

Our Ruling Ideals: They Are Before Us, Not Behind Us
We all declare for liberty;but in using the same word we do not all mean the same thing. With some the word liberty may mean for each man to do as he pleases with himself, and the product of his labor; while with others, the same word may mean for some men to do as they please with other men, and the product of other men’s labor. Here are two, not only different, but incompatible things, called by the same name–liberty. And it follows that each of the things is, by the respective parties, called by two different and incompatible names — liberty and tyranny. -Abraham Lincoln

You've taken the time to type 241 words in this thread- and now you're too busy to answer my question?

Epic Fail.

Keep it civil folks.

"Like I thought"
No you didn't. You just opened your mouth, no thought. Why do liberals always change the topic? "oh yah, what about Bush, where were you then?"
Dumb way to argue, but typical liberal dribble.Lol...Whee!

You liberals are a blast! Love it..Lol

Like I thought- No real complaint while Bush robbed you blind, but now you have a beef?
Lame excuse for racism. Maybe you'd feel better if you brought a cross to burn to the next tea-bagger party.

Your question isn't that interesting. You practically called the guy a racist up thread. Why the heck should he respond?

Modern liberals float around in a relativistic haze of intellectual drift, never touching the ground- always hovering “above it all” in a strange second reality where they can always be right… Don’t chase them… it’s pointless. Be a Socratic surgeon.

If you're not down with the event, that's fine. I'm not either, but there's no need to go after someone's political views. It's not that interesting.

Dissenters advantage their cause when they learn to argue viewpoint diversity. Opponents retain credibility by introducing accurate facts & respecting those of opposing viewpoint.

As a fiscal conservative, I insist that Congress & the American people have frank discussions about health care & healthy lifestyles. Cost containment is critical to the success of any single payer health care plan.

Madcap,
where was your beloved tea party during the Bush years?
4 TRILLION DOLLARS wasted in Iraq and not a peep from you and your kind?

This movement is just a cover cuz you are afraid of your BLACK PRESIDENT.

Tell me how wrong I am, please.
